looking at my blog, one might think i only take photos of babies and kids with big blue eyes. that isn’t the case, but there have been quite a few lately!! none of these kids have run-of-the-mill blue eyes. no, they have “wow, look at those eyes!” blue eyes!! this little guy was not an exception. Enjoy the sneak peek!
this big boy (turning 2 this week!) is such a cutie with the sweetest personality! we had so much fun exploring his yard - looking at rocks, playing with toys and running around. but if you ask him what we did, yep, you guessed it - we were looking for ants! are all two year olds fascinated with ants? i know that my two year old guy is - my five year old, too, come to think of it. although, he likes to let them crawl on him - which gives me the heebie jeebies!!
this little guy is going to be a big brother soon - i can’t wait to meet the newest member of this great family!!
it’s no secret that i love to take pictures of kids! all kids - babies, toddlers, preschoolers even teenagers. often, i’ll take shots of a family. to me, these can be a little more challenging, only because most people feel like they need to look at the camera and say “cheese” (that’s the worst). they just end up looking fake.
for me, family photos are best when they capture the connection that the family has. if a family is comfortable enough to let their guard down and just act natural - those are the best images.
this session was with a great mom and her one year old - who is just as sweet as he can be with those big brown eyes. these are the type of family photos that i love. these are the kind that i wish i had of me and my mom - how great would it be to look at these as an adult, or to show your children or grandchildren, even?
Thanks to all the great families who came to shalimar b photography’s and zozo for kids’ summer photo event - i had so much fun! i literally went home and told my husband, “i love what i do!” the weather was perfect and the kids were all so sweet! see for yourself below!

i feel so honored! we (my husband and i) were asked to be my nephew’s godparents - so for me, that’s two nephews and two baptisms in less then two months - i’m very holy! while we were visiting, i was able to take a few shots of him - but i had to be quick because he is on the move! also, his sister and cousins were tearing around the house and he may have been feeling left out!
look how cute - yes, i am totally biased!
